Jones Point Lighthouse

Overview

The Jones Point Lighthouse, built in 1855, is a small river lighthouse located on the Potomac River in Alexandria, Virginia. It is one of the last riverine lighthouses in the country and the only one still standing in the Chesapeake Bay area. The lighthouse also sits adjacent to the cornerstone that marks the southern tip of the District of Columbia.
